Planning and Initiatives Internships


Working within the Office of the President, you will help facilitate planning, special initiatives, and Board relations and operations of the Wolf Trap Foundation, including coordinating activities of staff and outside partners on projects that include government relations, cooperative and community partnerships, the planning/research of new performance series, Wolf Trap’s Green Initiative, Wolf Trap Archive Project, and more.

  • Learn about the structure and function of a Board of Directors and its committees, as well as the role that government advocacy play in a nonprofit organization.
  • Prepare for and observe staff planning sessions, meetings with arts and community partners, and Board meetings
  • Invite government and community leaders to special events
  • Assist at cultivation events
  • Maintain project records; learn Raiser’s Edge fundraising software
  • Assist with promotion of initiatives through writing and public interface
  • Conduct research to inform new initiatives
