Intended for both beginning and experienced musicians of all ages, our Private Lesson Program allows students to express themselves creatively while providing them with a solid technical basis. Instructors will create a specialized, level-appropriate curriculum based upon the student's needs and goals. Emphasis is placed on personal achievement and broadening musical understanding. With individual lessons, students can progress at their own pace, and often improve more rapidly and develop confidence more quickly.

Registration Information

12 lessons will be held during the term. Lessons will be scheduled at the mutual convenience of the instructor and student, and will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Saturdays.

Online registration is now available.
Classes are not interchangeable. Participants can only attend their registered class.

Teacher Bios

Dawn D. Frederick , graduated from The Catholic University of America where she received her B.M.E. in Choral Education. She is a soloist, choral director, and private vocal instructor. Mrs. Frederick continued her vocal studies after college in London, England where she studied voice and the anatomy and physiology of the voice at the Royal Academy of Music. She teaches Music Appreciation for the Adult Education program for Arlington County. Mrs. Frederick has been a Choral Director for the public and private school system for the past six years. She is a Certified Master Trainer candidate in the Estill Method which presents a more tangible approach to vocal health and technique. She has performed which such conductors as Robert Shaw, Christopher Hogwood, Robert King, Sir David Willcocks, Frances McBeth, J. Reilly Lewis and William Neil. Her recording credits are A Cathedral Christmas with Denyce Graves (CD and Video), Hymns Through the Centuries and Mass for the Sacred Space, and many others.

Deborah Morris, received her Bachelor of Music degree from Bowling Green State University in Ohio as a Piano major/Flute minor and her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. She has studied with William Masselos (The Juilliard School), Nelita True (University of Maryland and Eastman School of Music), Bela Nagy (Catholic University and Boston Conservatory), and Virginia Marks (Bowling Green State University). Ms. Morris has performed extensively throughout the Washington metropolitan area as soloist and accompanist. Faculty positions have included the Bowling Green State University Creative Arts Program, Arlington Class Piano Association, The Columbia Institute of Fine Arts, and The Madeira School. She was accompanist for the Navy and Air Force Chamber Player's concerts, maintained a private studio in Fairfax County for 28 years and for the past 10 years has headed the piano instruction at The Madeira School. She maintains her professional membership in the Friday Morning Music Club and Music Teachers National Association, and resides in Great Falls, VA with her husband and daughter.
