• A pioneer of “do-it-yourself” music production, Hest constantly pushes industry standards with innovative albums, including The Green Room Sessions (2006), which was recorded on his laptop using the computer program GarageBand, and his much-heralded Internet subscription project, 52, in which Hest wrote 52 songs over the course of one year and had fans select which ones to include on the final album, Twelve Mondays.

• Lead singer Elizabeth Ziman began as a backup singer for Patti Austin. After joining drummer Danny Molad and guitarist Peter Lalish in 2004, the trio signed with Verve Records and released their debut album, Taller Children (2008), a record reminiscent of a vintage jazz lounge style.
