Spring 2008 Schedule and Registration
8 class sessions will be held on Wednesdays from January 30 through March 26, 2008.
In each class, our Teaching Artist will lead a group of students to explore and re-enact a specially selected children's book. The students create and act out original stories based on the book. Various multicultural stories will be used throughout the series of classes. These classes will enhance your child's appreciation of literature and will promote language, thinking skills, creativity, and self-esteem.
Following are some of the books your children might explore:
- Mirette on the High Wire, by Emily Arnold McCully
- The Legend of the Bluebonnet, a Native American legend, by Tomie DePaola
- Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters, an African tale, by John Steptoe
