Whether you’re a bench beginner, ivory expert, or somewhere in-between, Wolf Trap’s professional piano instructor provides focused attention that emphasizes personal achievement, broadening of musical understanding, and the joy of making music. Offered in comfortable, state-of-the-art private practice rooms, our private piano lessons will give you the tools you need for headlining your next dinner party or simply playing the songs you love.

Registration Information

By registering, you agree to our classes policy.
12 lessons will be held during the Winter term.
Lessons will be scheduled at the mutual convenience of the instructor and student, and will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Saturdays between January 26 - April 22, 2013.
Classes are not interchangeable.
Participants can only attend their registered class.
Space is very limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

Teacher Bios

Marina Chamasyan Herder is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano from The Catholic University of America. She received an Artist’s Diploma and Master of Music degree from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and a second master’s degree from Amsterdam Conservatory in the Netherlands. Her previous teaching experience includes faculty positions at the Conservatory of Utrecht in the Netherlands and the Flint Hill School in Oakton, Virginia. A well-traveled teacher and performer, Herder has won multiple awards, including the Marjorie Conrad Peatee Art Song Duo Competition and the Ibla Grand Prize International Piano Competition in Italy, and has performed extensively in solo and chamber recitals throughout the United States, Belgium, Italy, and Slovenia. Her teachers include Anahit Bogdanian, Uriel Tsachor, Willem Brons, and Ivo Kaltchev.

Simone Perszyk is an active piano teacher in the Washington, D.C. area. She holds dual master’s degrees in Piano Performance and Accompanying, as well as a Piano Pedagogy Certificate from The University of Akron School of Music, where she studied with Philip Thomson and Laura Silverman. She also holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in Campinas, Brazil, and has recently completed a Masters in Arts Management from American University. Her performance experiences range from music festivals, competitions, and master classes to work as a church pianist. She has won awards for piano in Brazil, France, and Chile, and has participated in numerous festivals, including the 2nd Campus International de Música – Juventudes Musicales de Toledo in Spain and the Curso de Música Clássica – Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Moscow, Russia. Simone has been teaching piano lessons to students of all ages for the past decade. Outside teaching, she serves as the Program Coordinator, Major Gifts for Wolf Trap.
