Do you sing because you’re happy? Or are you happy because you sing? Here’s your chance to improve your technique and confidence in private lessons with a professional instructor who is dedicated to your personal achievement. Lessons are based on your individual abilities, needs, and goals.

By registering, you agree to our classes policy.
12 lessons will be held during the Winter term.
Lessons will be scheduled at the mutual convenience of the instructor and student and will be held on Tuesdays or Saturdays between January 24 and April 21, 2012.
Classes are not interchangeable.
Participants can only attend their registered class.
Space is very limited and available on a first come, first serve basis.

Note: No lessons Saturday, March 10 or Tuesday, March 13

Teacher Bio

Soprano Sarah B. Markovits is a versatile performer and instructor, comfortable singing and teaching a wide spectrum of musical styles. From 2009-2010, she taught voice, piano, and music theory at Pierce College in Lakewood, WA. From 2005-2007 Ms. Markovits served on the voice faculty at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and taught voice at Punahou School in Honolulu. As a performer, her roles have included Blanche in Dialogues des Carmelites, Arminda in La Finta Giardiniera, Laurie in The Tender Land, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, and Grizabella in CATS. Recent solo appearances include Bach’s Mass in B Minor in Honolulu, Capitol Hill Chorale in Washington, DC, and Choral Arts in Seattle. She has also appeared as a soloist with the Tacoma Symphony, the Seattle Men’s Chorus, and the Rose Consort of Viols. Currently, she is a Candidate for a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Washington, under the tutelage of soprano Jane Eaglen. Ms. Markovits lives in Washington, DC, where she also teaches children’s choir, voice, and music appreciation at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop.
