This prolific folk singer/songwriter has more than 30 albums and six Grammy nominations to his credit.

• Introduced to music through a mail-order guitar, McCutcheon is now adept at the banjo, piano, fiddle, jaw harp, concertina, and autoharp.
• McCutcheon jumped into to children’s music when he tried to instill music into the lives of his two sons, but found only what he described as “unmusical and condescending” children’s folk music. Motivated, he released the critically acclaimed Howjadoo in 1983. Though the album was originally intended to be a stand-alone project, he embraced the genre and has released numerous albums for children since then.
