Bringing a devilish twist to holiday classics and original songs, the lively folk-jazz originator returns with a new album, Holidaze in Hicksville.
Dan Hicks & The Hot Licks were originally founded by Hicks in the late-’60s as a side project. After the Hot Licks split up in 1973, Hicks performed solo before reforming the group for 2000’s Beatin’ the Heat.
Hick’s style incorporates Western swing, traditional folk, bluegrass, cowboy tunes, Gypsy jazz, and bossa nova.
