- The original seven-minute version of Riverdance was first performed at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest before becoming a smash hit in Ireland and the UK. In 1996 the show opened at Radio City Music Hall in New York before touring the US.
- The first performance at Wolf Trap was in 1997. Riverdance returned for 13 summers, the longest-running show ever at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts.
