Before they even got involved in the flamenco world, Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero bonded over their enjoyment of heavy metal while growing up in Mexico City.
In 2009 Rodrigo y Gabriela released their newest album, 11:11, which pays tribute to 11 musicians, both past and present, who have inspired their music.
Australian-born indie artist Xavier Rudd never focused on just one instrument, and instead has incorporated guitars, harmonicas, drums, winds, and the didgeridoo (a large bamboo trumpet native to the Australian aborigines) into his playing.
