Champion of the acoustic guitar, upbeat singer/songwriter Edwards has been spreading his “Sunshine” through earnest protest songs, feel-good honky-tonk, and heartfelt bluegrass albums for more than 40 years.
- Best known for his Vietnam protest song “Sunshine (Go Away Today),” Edwards’s repertoire includes many classics such as lovelorn folk song “Sometimes in the Morning” and playful party ode “Shanty.”
- Throughout his career, Edwards has released 16 albums, including his most recent contemporary folk record My Love Will Keep (2011), which features his “strong and richly textured” voice, according to AllMusic.com.
- Early in his career Edwards opened for B.B. King and The Allman Brothers Band and later collaborated with long-time friend Emmylou Harris, singing backup on her album Elite Hotel.
