- Best known as the lead vocalist of Virginian folk foursome Eddie From Ohio, Julie Murphy Wells has also released solo albums of originals and covers, including a riveting version of “Down to the River to Pray.”
- In 1994 Wells launched her solo career with debut album No Rules and followed it with Sophisticated Lady (1996), which featured classic jazz covers.
- She has toured regularly for more than 20 years with Eddie From Ohio, which has been regularly named Best Contemporary Folk Group by the Washington Area Music Association.
