Performing their nontraditional, genre-bending mixture of European gypsy, American bluegrass, jazz, and Irish dance, this group of seven world-class musicians takes to The Barns’ stage for their Wolf Trap debut. Since the band’s inception in 2005, they have travelled the world, cultivating new audiences in their effort to revitalize, redefine, and stretch the boundaries of Irish music. Founded and led by musical director/fiddler Michael McClintock, these performers are some of Ireland’s top musical exports, boasting several Irish and international championships and awards.

Chicago City Limits’ National Touring Company returns to The Barns for back-to-back performances, presenting MySpace or Yours?, its new improvisational comedy revue for 2008-2009. Six members of the National Touring Company will take the stage for an evening of pure, uninhibited improvisation, drawing ideas and inspiration from Wolf Trap audience members. Thematically, cast members will focus their comedic scenes, one-liners, and improvised music around the social networking and internet revolution that permeates today’s society. Apart from the National Touring Company, Chicago Limits has been a beloved fixture in New York as the city’s longest running comedy show. The troupe was recently honored as the Best Comedy/Improv Group for 2008 by the Manhattan’ Associations of Cabarets and Clubs.

This performance brings a unique blend of internationally influenced guitar work from the finger tips of Pierre Bensusan, Benjamin Verdery, Cecilia Zabala and IGN founder Brian Gore. Each performer a master of diverse influences, International Guitar Night (IGN) is revered by fans and critics alike as one of the top guitar showcases in North America. Since its humble beginnings at a San Francisco laundromat in 1995, the concept has exploded into a worldwide celebration of diverse guitar techniques and stylistic exploration, focusing on collaboration amongst top guitar players rather than competition for recognition or sales.
