During his much anticipated Wolf Trap debut, Duncan Sheik will straddle the fence between his recognizable pop hits and selections from Broadway’s Spring Awakening, the 19th century German expressionist play with a rock and roll twist. Sheik was largely responsible for scoring the smash hit production, which garnered a total of eight Tony Awards. Individually, Sheik won 2 Tony Awards, one for Best Score, and the second for Best Orchestration. He also brought home the 2007 Drama Desk Outstanding Music Award. Prior to his success on Spring Awakening, Sheik earned notoriety with his 1996 pop gem “Barely Breathing” from his self-titled solo debut effort.
Former Spring Awakening cast member and major label recording artist Lauren Pritchard joins Sheik at The Barns to help provide added weight and depth to Sheik’s performance selections. Pritchard will also preview new material from her debut album on Sony/BMG Records, due to be released by the end of this year.

Richard Shindell
Emo-folk artist, in-demand collaborator and Zen Buddhist Richard Shindell arrives at The Barns for his Wolf Trap debut to showcase his highly reflective and poetic catalogue of original work, as well as covers from his 2007 release, South of Delia. Shindell’s reputation as one of the seminal songwriters of his time led to the formation of Cry, Cry, Cry with Lucy Kaplansky and Dar Williams, and a 1997 tour with folksinger Joan Baez, two major opportunities that further expanded his group of listeners.
Olabelle
Getting their start at a Manhattan music club, Ollabelle is acclaimed for their contemporary spin on traditional bluegrass, gospel, and folk, emphasized by an urban ambience inherent in electric blues or neo-funk. Their reputation for innovation and eclecticism led to a series of performances and tours with artists Ryan Adams, Diana Krall, and Buddy Miller. Olabelle continues to tour behind 2006’s Riverside Battle Songs, described by band member Fiona McBain as “a collection of songs reflecting hard times, loss, compassion, and hope.”

He continues to have a full slate of concerts throughout the country armed with his memorable, tender hits, “I Will Be in Love with You,” “First Time Love,” and “Get out of Bed.” Taylor will hit The Barns for back-to-back nights on November 14 and 15 in continued support of his latest release, There You Are Again (2006), which features a star-studded lineup, including his siblings James and Kate, as well as Vince Gill on electric guitar.
