Wine connoisseurs, art enthusiasts, and friends of Wolf Trap come together once again for an evening of wine tasting, silent art auctions, live music, food, and dancing to benefit Wolf Trap Foundation’s Education programs on
Saturday, March 10, 2007.
Held at the
Center for Education at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia, Art Uncorked begins at 6:30 pm with a two-hour tasting of select wines and a silent art auction of spectacular pieces presented by Broadway Galleries and local area artists, along with a palette of culinary delights. The party continues at
The Barns at Wolf Trap for a champagne and dessert reception with dancing from 8:30 pm – 10 pm Tickets are $100 per person and may be reserved by calling Wolf Trap Special Events at (703) 255-4030.
Award winning landscape painter John Brannon, Wolf Trap’s Visual Artist of 2007, will present a special painting depicting Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, which he was commissioned to create. The evening will also include a raffle of fine wines, artwork, and travel for two donated by United Airlines.
All proceeds from
Art Uncorked! directly benefit Wolf Trap’s nationally acclaimed education programs, including the Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts, a national and international program that promotes the use of the performing arts in early childhood education to impart basic literacy concepts and life skills. Additionally, funds will benefit the expansion of other education programs at the Center for Education at Wolf Trap, the Foundation’s arts-in-education resource center for children, parents, educators, and artists.
Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts sets the standard for arts-based education through its many renowned programs, including the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts. Founded in 1981, the Institute offers a variety of services, including classroom residencies in primarily disadvantaged areas, distance learning opportunities, keynote presentations, professional development workshops, and family workshops to children six months to five years old and their teachers and parents. The Institute serves more than 50,000 teachers and children annually. Since its inception it has reached more than 2 million children with the use of the performing arts techniques to teach basic academic concepts as well as life skills. The Institute has 16 regional programs across the country and its programs have served communities in 45 states and 10 foreign countries
