On Monday, April 21, 2008 audiences witnessed the country's most innovative artists as they combined the grandeur of America's national parks with the art of the camera in the premiere of "Dance in America: Wolf Trap's Face of America™." This on-location spectacular featured selections from five breathtaking installments from Wolf Trap's acclaimed
Face of America™ artistic adventure series.
The 90-minute television special showcases in high definition the aerial dancing of Project Bandaloop off the cliffs of Yosemite National Park; the U.S. Synchronized Swim Team underwater at Coral Reef National Monument; Halau O Kekuhi, renowned keepers of honored hula traditions, on the sacred terrain of Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park; and follows some of the country's most exciting dancers and choreographers—Doug Varone, Elizabeth Streb, and Donald Byrd—Mammoth Cave National Park, Wright Brothers National Memorial, and the remains of a sugar cane plantation at Virgin Islands National Park.
