Across the meadow from the Filene Center, literally tucked in the woods at Wolf Trap National Park, the Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods has been a summer tradition for generations of children and families.
Performances range from music and dance to puppetry and storytelling—interactive, educational, and fun. All shows are about an hour long and are perfect for children ages 4 and up.
Just a few recent shows that reflect the theatre’s always eclectic and high caliber mix of artists:
Performances are always interactive, bringing both kids and adults to their feet.
- Grammy winner Dan Zanes—the "crown prince of contemporary kids' music,” according to People magazine—kept the audience on its feet;
- Emmy-nominated theatrical group Pushcart Players acted out cherished fables;
- Natyabhoomi School of Indian Dance exposed children to classical and contemporary dance from across the world;
- Grammy-nominated duo The Pop Ups! mixed puppetry, indie music, and storytelling, delighting adults along with their kids
