Directions and Parking

Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods is located behind the Filene Center at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts at 1551 Trap Road, Vienna VA 22182. Parking is free and available in the Filene Center lot.

Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods Special Arrangements and Park Rules

• Arrangements may be made in advance for patrons with special needs by calling the National Park Service at (703) 255-1824/1999 TDD.
•  Signed performances may be requested no fewer than 14 days in advance by calling the National Park Service at (703) 255-1824/1999 TDD.
•  Absolutely no food or drink—other than water—will be allowed in the theater area.
•  Picnic lunches may be brought to the park (squirrel-proof containers suggested) and enjoyed in the meadow following the morning's performances.

Rain Cancellation Refund Exchange Policy

Note: The following policy is only for Wolf Trap Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods performances, and only in the case of rain cancellation. All other sales are final, and may not be refunded or exchanged for any reason.

•  Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods performances are cancelled if it rains. Please visit the National Park Service (NPS) (www.nps.gov/wotr/forkids/titw.htm) or call (703) 255-1827 for cancellation information.
•  Decisions to cancel are made no later than one hour prior to show time. Tune your radio to 870 AM for daily updates on Theatre-in-the-Woods parking, ticket availability, and rain cancellations.

In the event that a Theatre-in-the-Woods performance is cancelled due to rain, the following refund/exchange policy will be activated:

•  Patrons who purchased their Theatre-in-the-Woods tickets through Tickets.com—either by phone, Internet, or through the Wolf Trap website—will automatically receive a credit to their charge card for the cancelled show's tickets only. Patrons need not return these tickets in order to receive a refund, and CANNOT attempt to exchange tickets for a future show once their accounts have been credited.
•  Patrons who purchased Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods tickets at Wolf Trap's box office have the option of receiving a refund or exchanging their tickets for a future Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods performance. To receive a refund or request an exchange, patrons must return tickets in person to Wolf Trap's box office.
•  Requests for refunds will not be accepted after August 11.

Interactive Workshops and NPS Activities

The National Park Service offers programs for children 5 years of age and older in conjunction with performances at the Theatre-in-the-Woods. Please call (703) 255-1824 for details.

•  Performers from the 10 am Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods shows conduct interactive arts-based workshops on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 11:15 am in the Meadow Pavilion. Reservations are required (space is limited to 35).
•  Park Rangers lead programs about nature, theater, and the performing arts after most Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods performances.
•  Junior Ranger Activity Books are available to assist children in becoming Wolf Trap Junior Rangers.

Online Activities

•  Access pre- and post-show educational study guides developed by the performers to supplement content presented during their performances at Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods.
•  These activities will be posted with the performers' information when available.
