2015 Filene Young Artists
After rigorous auditions in 8 cities, Wolf Trap Opera selected 21 Filene Young Artists for the 2015 season.

This year, WTO has 6 sopranos, 4 mezzo-sopranos, 3 tenors, 4 baritones, and 4 bass/bass-baritones. They were born in 14 different states and 3 foreign countries (Australia, South Korea, and South Africa).
Because WTO selects the artists before determining the repertoire each season, the 2015 repertoire plays to the strengths of this year’s company.
Some have already begun their freelance careers, and others come directly from young artist training programs, such as those at Houston Grand Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Washington National Opera.
2015 Studio Artists
Each year, Wolf Trap Opera selects 16 Studio Artists, who have recently finished undergraduate or graduate programs.
Studio Artists take on small or ensemble roles in what is typically their first professionally conducted, directed, coached, and designed production.
This year’s Studio Artists come from a broad range of the best conservatories and universities in the US, including the Academy of Vocal Arts, University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Rice University, Manhattan School of Music, The Juilliard School, and Indiana University.

2015 Fellows and Interns
The 2015 Coaching Fellowship recipients come from the Juilliard School and Los Angeles Opera. They will function as junior members of WTO’s professional music staff. And the 8-10 lucky college students selected as interns will be part of the administrative, production, and technical teams.
