Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods at Wolf Trap! Each June through August, this magical outdoor venue springs to life with interactive concerts, live performances, puppet shows, and more for kids and families to enjoy.
Across the Meadow from the
Filene Center and tucked in the woods of Wolf Trap National Park, Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods features a range of performances from music and dance to puppetry and theater. Shows are about an hour long, and are always educational, interactive, and engaging for the whole family—perfect for preschool and elementary-aged children!

An outing to Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods is perfect for summer camps, birthday parties, play dates, and more. Groups of 10 or more get access to:
- DISCOUNTS: Groups of 10+ save 10% off tickets and groups of 50+ save 20%.
- ADVANCE RESERVATIONS: Groups may reserve tickets before they go on sale to the public.
- NO FEES: No service and handling fees on group orders.
- FREE PARKING: Ample, free parking available for vans and buses.
- EXTEND THE DAY: Groups are welcome to picnic in the Park, hike the trails, and play in the Meadow.

See the best and brightest children’s artists from all over the world! Shows include children’s plays, musicals, dance performances, puppet theater, bilingual shows, and kids’ concerts spanning musical genres.
- Bring a Picnic: Revel in the sunshine and pack a picnic to enjoy in the Meadow!
- Free Parking: Parking is available in the East Lot and Gil’s Hill, just off Trap Road. Follow the paved trail through the Meadow and cross the bridge into the woods. National Park Rangers will guide you to the theater.
- See More for Less: Buy tickets to three or more shows and save $2 off every ticket.
- Shows for Everyone: Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods offers a variety of opportunities to experience different cultures and deepen connections to your own through bilingual concerts, dance, and theatrical performances. Sign language interpretation is also available upon request by emailing patronservices@wolftrap.org.
