National Orchestral Institute + Festival Music Director Marin Alsop conducts a program powered by nature. Inspired by scenic upstate New York, Jessie Montgomery’s Caught by the Wind implements brilliant counterpoint to portray the planet’s various natural cycles. Nathan Lincoln-DeCusatis' violin concerto The Maze is based on Utah’s vast Canyonlands National Park and mimics geologic transformation over time. Beethoven's beloved "Pastoral" Symphony journeys through various landscapes—from a sunny countryside to a serene brook to a thunderous storm.

Wolf Trap will host community healthcare workers and volunteers and educators for this complimentary performance in recognition of their heroic efforts over the past year.

Thanks to PNC for making this evening possible!
