Aspen Santa Fe Ballet performs regularly at the nation’s most prestigious dance venues. In 2013, its Executive Director led a modern ballet class at Wolf Trap. Along with some basic techniques, he showed students how they combine the beauty of ballet with their signature, edgy style.
Wolf Trap’s private voice, piano, and guitar instructors have taught students how to hone their techniques and enhance their musicality. And these instructors don’t just know how to teach—each is an accomplished performer in his or her own right. With one-on-one sessions in state-of-the-art practice rooms, these classes help prepare students for everything from karaoke to auditions.
Djembe drumming is one of the most prominent traditions of West Africa. Since 1998, Wolf Trap Master Teaching Artist Kofi Dennis has guided students in the art of presenting music, dance, and storytelling. In his African drumming class, students learn the rhythmic patterns, phrases, and techniques of this rich, musical tradition.
