Bringing art-integrated learning to communities nationwide

Map of the United States highlighting the 35 states with Wolf Trap Institute early childhood education programs in 2017.Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts works with nearly 100,000 children, educators, artists, administrators, and policymakers in school districts across the country every year.

We replicate our model at the local level through affiliate organizations, customizing strategies and best practices to meet the needs of each school and classroom. Wolf Trap affiliates include a mix of arts education organizations, theaters, and performing arts centers—all dedicated to arts in education.

Wolf Trap Institute also partners with school districts and professional organizations to promote and research art-integrated learning in early childhood education. In partnership with Fairfax County Public Schools, for example, we conducted a four-year study which found that students whose teachers participated in Wolf Trap programs received the equivalent of one month of extra learning in math.
“It is such a pleasure to be able to invite children, parents, and teachers to explore tools in music, drama, and movement to help our children grow up happy, healthy, and enlivened.”
-Erika Villarreal Bunce, Wolf Trap Affiliate Director, Detroit, MI
