As Seen at the Filene Center
2026 kicks off with a few familiar faces from the Filene Center who make their first appearances at The Barns this season:
- Gaby Moreno on January 23: the Guatemalan singer/songwriter seamlessly merges R&B, jazz, and Latin folk and premiered at last summer’s Todo Sonido Festival
- Gabe Dixon on January 31: the Tedeschi Trucks Band’s keyboardist showcases his solo work, including piano-driven original songs and covers
- Christian McBride & Ursa Major on February 21: the Grammy-winning bassist returns to Wolf Trap for the first time since 2010 with his versatile group of master instrumentalists
Nashville's Calling
Experience the honky-tonk charm and underground talent of Music City without leaving the DMV. Nashville Emerging Artists Night—now expanded to three nights from February 5–7—brings together seven rising singer/songwriters and Grammy-performing percussionist Jack Dratch in intimate, writers’ round-style evenings. Sample a variety of genres from country-folk to R&B and hear the stories behind the songs. Who knows, you might discover your next favorite artist!
Love is in the Air
Grammy-winning singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tim O’Brien knows there are few things more special than making music with loved ones. On February 13, O’Brien performs with his wife, mandolinist and vocalist Jan Fabricius, featuring songs from their first full-length album written together.
The duo’s love story began in 2011 when they started dating, Fabricius (a registered nurse from Kansas) moved to Nashville in 2013, and by 2015 they were performing together internationally. Though O’Brien is well known for his contributions to bluegrass band Hot Rize, The Earls of Leicester, and more, Paper Flowers poses his most intimate and heartfelt work to date.
Conveniently timed just before Valentine’s Day, this is the perfect date night! Get a sneak preview of the duo with this video.
Folk for the Heart and Mind
Rolling up to The Barns on February 18 with their signature folk-rock and bluesy sound is The Barr Brothers. Their debut comes just a couple of months after a European tour with Mumford & Sons and features songs from their latest album Let It Hiss. Created after an eight-year pause, the album has been described as “their most personal and collaborative work to date, a testament to their authenticity and artistic evolution” (KLOF Mag). Get a taste of their latest work with this video.
Anna Tivel, a fiddler-turned-singer/songwriter from Washington state, opens the show. Experience the poetic lyricism and stunning folk melodies of her latest work, Animal Poem, released in August 2025.
No-Nonsense Laughs
You’ll want to have a babysitter on speed dial for Zarna Garg’s shows on March 21 + 22. The New York Times bestseller and stay-at-home mom turned wildly popular comedian shares the hilarious and harrowing tales of family life in New York City as an Indian immigrant.
Full of quips on marriage advice, modern parenting, and even masala curry, you’ll quickly see why comedy legends like Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have invited her to open their shows. Garg sells out headlining shows at NYC’s Comedy Cellar, so don’t hesitate to grab tickets for her debut at The Barns before they’re gone!
Sonorous Siblings
Ani and Marta Aznavoorian, known as The Aznavoorian Sisters, perform with the polish of decades of collaboration. In fact, their on-stage journey began at ages four and eight. Since then, they’ve enjoyed immensely successful combined and solo careers, playing across the US and Europe.
Ani uses a cello made by their father, Peter Aznavoorian, and Marta easily adapts to any piano set before her—including, undoubtedly, The Barns’ Steinway. See the sisters in action on March 27 in a program that redefines the “modern classical” music landscape and honors their Armenian heritage.
Classical South Asian Culture with a Twist
Welcome in the spring season with the vibrancy of South Asian music. On March 20, Bharatanatyam dancer Mythili Prakash warms up District of Raga’s fourth season with her solo work JWALA (Rising Flame), including live musicians and captivating choreography. Then on April 4, experience call-and-response melodies from The Flute, Sitar, and Tabla Trio, composed of Rakesh Chaurasia, Purbayan Chatterjee, and Amit Kavthekar.
Closing out the series on April 22 is the Anirudh Varma Collective. Their contemporary approach to ragas and Hindustani music includes elements of rock and jazz and a rotating roster of over 150 musicians. Come to the show to find out which artists will make up the lineup at The Barns!
