Excitement is Building
Construction is underway for the brand-new Meadow Commons. Funded by philanthropy, this multi-functional building will have expanded food service, additional and upgraded restrooms, elevators and more!
Launched publicly in 2021 and completed in 2023, the Campaign for Wolf Trap: Our Next Chapter was Wolf Trap Foundation's largest fundraising ambition ever, with a goal to strengthen and revitalize the Wolf Trap experience, build our endowment, and amplify our influence and impact locally and nationally.
The campaign yielded the largest investment since Wolf Trap’s founding and fulfilled a vision to bring new vitality to our community treasure for two critical priorities:
Wolf Trap—with its last capital investment in 1981—was present but not advancing; that is, until the Campaign for Wolf Trap: Our Next Chapter initiative began.
Construction started in 2020 with project partners Gensler, L.F. Jennings, and Linchpin to invigorate the Wolf Trap experience to benefit visitors now and for generations to come.
Through the Campaign for Wolf Trap, Wolf Trap’s endowment grew significantly, which will ensure a strong future, continue artistic excellence, benefit children and families, and support Wolf Trap Opera. A strong endowment will provide steady support for ongoing programs and a measure of security during economic fluctuations.
Endowment donors are forward thinkers making lasting impacts on Wolf Trap’s future.
As stewards of this national treasure, the community came together to make a transformative investment to ensure Wolf Trap is forever. Thank you to the 2,500 donors who helped us exceed our initial $50 million goal inspired by our 50th anniversary—raising a total of $75 million for the Campaign for Wolf Trap.
The Campaign for Wolf Trap was led by two visionary leaders, Hillary Baltimore and Karen Schaufeld. Serving as Co-Chairs of this once-in-a-generation initiative, they knew the time was right to think boldly about the next chapter for this beloved institution.
