Spirit of South Florida
Filming began amidst tropical fish and alligators, in swamps and canoes. To create David Parsons’ vision for Spirit of South Florida, Parsons Dance and Tiempo Libre went on location to Biscayne National Park, Big Cypress National Preserve, Dry Tortugas National Park, and Everglades National Park—making the landscape part of their art. The masterpiece of music, video, and movement put the spotlight on the region’s parks and wildlife, and included music from groups in South Florida.

Glacier National Park
Men in tuxedos and women in ball gowns aren’t what you’d expect in the middle of Glacier National Park. But Trey McIntyre made these seemingly out-of-place figures transition into the space as if there was nothing odd about it. The Sun Road, his August 2009 work performed by Trey McIntyre Project, featured film, dance, and music spanning Paul Simon to Native American percussion. Musicians included: Philip Aaberg, Jack Gladstone, and Rob Quist.
